Integrated Positioning

A significant Q-Seabed technology feature is the use of intrinsic ranging by modulated acoustics (IRMA) transducers in the cable. The hydrophones are also used for acoustic positioning, thus improving safety, efficiency, and quality. Accurate positions for every receiver are obtained in parallel with acquisition, without applying offsets, and with no externally mounted devices on the cable; deployment/ retrieval operations are safer and more efficient. Vessel-mounted transponders enable highly accurate cable positioning. In orthogonal surveys, receiver locations can be verified and approved before swath moves even begin.
