Integrated Basin Modeling

WesternGeco GeoSolutions 3D basin modeling approach forms part of our integrated velocity modeling workflow, specifically targeted at subsalt velocity estimation. We apply 3D fluid-flow and compaction to predict pore-pressure, effective stress and seismic velocity for depth imaging purposes, resulting in much improved delineation of subsalt stratigraphy and pore pressure. The workflow is fast and robust, and has been successfully applied on many prospects yielding enhanced seismic images of salt bodies and subsalt.
