Time-lapse Binning Upgrades

WesternGeco has substantially upgraded its time-lapse binning software:

• Any number of surveys may be binned simultaneously in order to choose traces that give the best overall repeatability.
• The time-lapse binning selection criterion may be a weighted sum of multiple geometrical criteria plus the inter-survey NRMS difference.
• Searching may be performed in expanded bins in both the spatial and offset directions. In addition to the weighted sum described above, the selection criterion can include a weighted function of the distance of the midpoint of the traces from the center of the current cell.

These options give the flexibility required by complicated acquisition scenarios.
