LIVE Set Digital Slickline Setting Services

Plugs for casing and tubing, as well as cement retainers, are usually set with tools that require licenses for ordering, storing, and using explosives. LIVE Set services use the D-Set digital electrohydraulic setting tool, an industry-compatible electrohydraulic, battery-powered setting device, controlled digitally from the surface. The actuator uses hydraulic pressure to create pull or movement. Accurate depth control is possible using the downhole gamma ray and casing collar locator. Three sizes of the tool exist:

• 1 11/16-in OD with a pull of 13,000 lbf and a stroke of 6 3/8 in, used in 2 3/8- and 2 7/8-in tubing.
• 2 11/16-in OD with a pull of 33,000 lbf and a stroke of 10 1/4 in, used in 3 1/2- to 5-in tubing.
• 3 7/8-in OD with a pull of 55,000 lbf and a stroke of 10 7/16 in, used in 5 1/2-in and larger casing.
