Merak 2011.2 is a full release of the Merak suite of applications, delivering the industry’s most comprehensive offering for standardized economics, international fiscal regime modeling, decision and risk analysis, reserve tracking and reporting, portfolio optimization, and planning. The Merak 2011.2 release focuses on quality, while also fixing a number of issues (see below for details).
New functionality and key updates in Merak 2011.2
Merak Peep economics and decline analysis software
- Economics can be calculated from both the Home and Reports tabs.
- The name of the current database is displayed in the Merak Peep window.
- The Merak Peep Model Visualizer replaces the RepGen tool used in earlier Merak releases.
- Merak Peep now informs case plug-ins (OCSs) of changes to case date or length.
- Calculation speed is improved for batches or consolidations with scenario consolidations.
- New object linking and embedding (OLE) methods let custom developers use price logic in price files with add-ins, as well as manipulate batch documents and create and manipulate scheduler documents.
- Peep incorporates new ways to select prices, define price offsets, and select results set.
Merak Results Broker software
- Evaluations added to results requests are now saved in requests for non-administrator users.
Merak VOLTS software
- When batch-balancing reservoirs, changes to production values are accounted for.
- Historic and current-year estimated production data is removed for reservoirs after cases are unlinked from reservoir documents.
- Reservoir production data is refreshed when a linked Merak Peep case is updated.
- Lock on reservoir documents is retained when a Merak Peep case document linked to reservoir is open and closed.
- VOLTS performance has been improved to significantly reduce the time needed to interact with Peep for integrated economic reserve tracking.
