ECLIPSE VFPi
Vertical flow performance modeling software
ECLIPSE VFPi is the graphical, interactive successor to the Vertical Flow Performance program, VFP. Through a series of graphical modules and control and data panels, it allows you to study all aspects of pressure traverse calculations along wells and pipelines for black oil and compositional fluids. You can also generate and examine production and injection vertical flow performance tables for input into the ECLIPSE and VIP simulators.
Capabilities
ECLIPSE VFPi is able to perform pressure traverses using data from more than one well within a single session of the program. The multiple-well data is controlled from the data tree window, with each well represented as a node connected to the root of a tree-like structure. This feature allows you to easily compare pressures losses between differing wells and also offers greater flexibility when analyzing and designing wells and pipelines.
Using ECLIPSE VFPi, you can graphically examine fluid properties and view individual pressure traverses, the vertical-flow performance (VFP) curves, and cross sections of VFP tables. VFP curves can also be displayed in three dimensions.
ECLIPSE VFPi offers you the choice of six multiphase flow correlations to calculate pressure traverses. Different correlations can be used in various parts of the tubing, enabling the program to handle horizontal and undulating pipelines, as well as vertical wellbores and risers, while accommodating the effects of gas lift, downhole pumps, gas compression, and surface chokes.
VFPi possesses fluid-modeling capabilities for both black-oil and compositional models. It allows you to study all aspects of pressure traverse along wells and pipelines and creates comprehensive lift curves for ECLIPSE to calculate wellbore losses. In the display, the VFP curves are shown in both two- and three-dimensions with the IPR line on the two-dimensional display.
