Special core analysis management software

Special core analysis (SCAL) management software provides an environment in which you an easily manage and analyze your special core analysis data. SCAL helps you use laboratory-derived, relative-permeability, and capillary-pressure measurements in reservoir simulation.

Capabilities

With SCAL, you can validate and classify experimental data according to various criteria. Records and groups may be copied, moved, and deleted by using the mouse, and the group and individual record labels may be set.

You can also apply specialized plots and functions specific to data for validation purposes. For example, data can be normalized, denormalized, averaged, or interpolated. The data can be fit to functions, splines, or to industry-standard correlations. SCAL provides you with tools to display several specialized plots at once and to produce arbitrary crossplots.

SCAL enables you to allocate chosen relative-permeability and capillary-pressure curves to appropriate blocks in the simulation grid automatically by applying user-defined criteria. The three-dimensional visualization capability provides a quick and effective way of checking the data allocations. Additionally, SCAL has extensive support for end-point scaling.
