ECLIPSE PVTi

Pressure-volume-temperature analysis software

ECLIPSE PVTi is a compositional PVT equation-of-state-based program used to characterize a set of fluid samples for use in ECLIPSE simulators. ECLIPSE PVTi is vital for creating a realistic physical model of reservoir fluid sample(s) before trying to use them in a reservoir simulation. ECLIPSE PVTi can be used to simulate experiments that have been performed in the lab on a set of fluid samples, and then theoretical predictions can be made of any observations that were performed during a lab experiment to test the accuracy of the fluid model.

Capabilities

With ECLIPSE PVTi, you can check on the validity of laboratory data by comparing it with the predictions of a simulation of the fluid behavior. Black-oil tables for ECLIPSE Blackoil are prepared using liquid/gas compositions obtained from differential liberation experiments. In preparing data for compositional simulation in ECLIPSE Compositional, you choose between pseudoized or regressed EoS or tabular data (K-values or liquid and vapor mole fractions as a function of pressure).

ECLIPSE PVTi also generates black oil tables for ECLIPSE VFPi. In doing so, it simulates the phase and volumetric changes in wellbore fluid by modeling a constant composition expansion experiment over the range of temperature between the bottom and top production string.

ECLIPSE PVTi helps you generate PVT data from the laboratory analysis of oil and gas samples. The output can be used as input data for the ECLIPSE simulators.
