Seabed E&P Open Data Model & Database

The Seabed data model is a purpose-designed database platform that offers unparalleled capability and flexibility. This advanced technology promotes rapid development and consistent deployment of petrotechnical applications requiring cross-application or cross-domain workflows. Its best-in-class database technology powers scalable, multi-user, collaborative petro-technical applications and the standard data model promotes unprecedented data integration and interoperability.

The Seabed database is supported on commercial off-the-shelf database technology (e.g., Oracle) and can scale from single-user to multi-user deployments with large data sets. The technology includes database services aimed at reducing the cost of development of scalable, collaborative, transaction-oriented applications that leverage a shared persistence of E&P and application data.

The data model is comprehensive, clearly documented and ready-to-run out of the box. This unified and robust data model can enable workflow that span across exploration, engineering, development, production, economics, and other upstream O&G domains. Additionally, the database technology is flexible and allows the data model to be extended as required to meet the business demands and workflow practices of the upstream O&G industry. The data model is geared to provide direct, immediate data sharing and efficient lossless data transfers and is an integral part of an integrated E&P environment yielding breakthrough results. To allow further collaboration with the industry, the standard Seabed data model is published as an open specification. This new approach has enabled us to leverage current and heritage industry standards such as: Seabed Data Model

The Seabed data model is not an update or an upgrade. Rather it is a completely new approach built on a consortium of best-of-class information management fundamentals. This new approach has enabled us to leverage industry standards such as:
