The upstream oil and gas industry dedicates large amounts of time and resources to gathering information about wells. This original-format data is generally stored in a corporate database. To integrate this data within their interpretation environment, geoscientists must first identify the data they need—this data must then be made available in the context of the workflow.
The ProSource Front Office solution provides a Web interface to search, browse, and visualize all stored well data, allowing users to better understand and take full advantage of the valuable geoscience data stored in the ProSource data management system.
As a standalone Web application, the ProSource Front Office solution can be accessed from the corporate intranet for easy searching and browsing of corporate data. From here, it is possible to
- search for well headers, deviation surveys, well logs, markers, checkshots, perforations, core intervals, and more
- conduct advanced searches via an intuitive interface
- perform map-based spatial filtering for easier identification of data
- export data via DLIS, LIS, LAS, or Microsoft Excel files
ProSource Front Office plug-ins are also available for both Petrel and Techlog software. These extend the capabilities of the Web interface, enabling the transfer of data stored in the ProSource information management system directly into the Studio Knowledge for Petrel environment or a Techlog project—all without the user having to leave the application. With the plug-ins it is possible to
- view and filter the available data
- identify the appropriate files for the workflow
- move only what is needed into the project.
