Calibration of Depth Processed Seismic to Well Markers Workflow

The final result of this workflow is a 3D depth seismic volume that allows a better and more accurate planning of these ultradeep water wells. It also means reducing the risk of drilling out of the reservoir in horizontal wells.

A new well was recently drilled in this field. The difference between the depth predicted by the calibrated seismic and the actual depth to top reservoir was only 3 meters. Prior to the implementation of this workflow, expected errors were around 15 meters, a 500% improvement in accuracy.
