IESX Seismic Interpretation
IESX is a GeoFrame seismic interpretation module that combines the traditional domains of geology, petrophysics, modeling, and mapping into a suite of applications that share a common database for enhanced multi-user workflows. IESX interpretation tools work on prestack, poststack, time, and depth data, which can all exist in the same project. Multiple 3D surveys combined with 2D surveys can coexist in a single multi-user project where geophysicists, geologists, petrophysicists, and engineers can work simultaneously, sharing interpretation results in real time.
Benefits
- Supports multi-user projects so that domain experts can work in the same project simultaneously and share up-to-date interpretation in real time.
- Loads, stores, and displays in any projection.
- Includes both automatic and manual interpretation tools, customer-proven and enhanced over 20 years.
- All applications share the same Oracle-based database; there is no need to export and import information between applications.
- Provides the stability and scalability of Solaris and Linux operating systems on the latest workstations, PCs, and laptops.
- Supports SEGY and SEGY Rev1 data formats.
- Supports full prestack data visualization, the creation of offset stacks, and AVO grid posting.
- Displays calculated attributes on the fly for both 2D and 3D data.
- Shares seismic data across multiple projects; data only needs to be loaded once.
- Corrects different vintages of data with mistie analysis that includes 2D-to-2D, 2D-to-3D, 3D-to-3D, synthetic-to-2D, and synthetic-to-3D data types.
- Provides complete integration between 2D and 3D (GeoViz) interpretation canvasses.
- Crossplots different seismic classes of data and various horizon attributes; displays selected results on the seismic data.
2D Seismic Interpretation
Interpret horizons and faults aided by posted borehole markers and synthetics. View results simultaneously on the vertical seismic data and in map view (Basemap). Grid and contour the interpreted results on the map view canvas using your choice of gridding algorithms.
3D Seismic Interpretation
Interpret horizons and faults manually or by using automatic picking algorithms. Use posted borehole information to guide the interpretation. Multiple windows with automated rolling and filling of displays helps speed interpretation while multiple-attribute color and wiggle displays aid interpretation through difficult, low signal-to-noise areas.
Data Management
All projects are model-based, allowing for complete control of the interpretation available to the individual project users. Solaris and Linux operating systems provide a stable environment for manipulating thousands of 2D lines, multiple 3D surveys hundreds of gigabytes in size, together with tens of thousands of wells with data including borehole, log, and marker data. A Marker Preference System is available to help focus down vast amounts of marker information to aid interpretation. The Seismic History tool automatically updates applications that have been used to work the data. This text is carried along with the data, including data export, when using SEGY Rev1 format.
