Standardize your 3D visualization

Trying to generate and communicate a detailed understanding of the complexities of a reservoir or prospect by working with two-dimensional displays of 3D data often can lead to less than optimum reservoir delineation. With GeoViz Explore three-dimensional visualization software you can enhance your understanding of spatial distributions and relationships.

Part of the GeoFrame integrated reservoir characterization system, GeoViz Explore provides a three-dimensional canvas for visualization of geophysical, geological and petrophysical data. With GeoViz Explore you can display 3D seismic data as volumes or individual slices along with 2D data.

A view only version of GeoViz three-dimensional interpretation and visualization software, GeoViz Explore is a powerful tool to quality check your work. With GeoViz Explore you can:

  • Check your geological interpretation
  • Check your depth conversion
  • Check your geological zonation schemes
  • Check geological and geophysical
  • Interpretations against each other to
  • Determine inter-relationships
  • Check fault and structural frameworks.

The use of GeoViz Explore can enhance the workflow of your entire asset team. While one member of your asset team is working with a GeoFrame seismic interpretation application, another member can be using GeoViz Explore at the same time for geological, geophysical or petrophysical data and interpretation validation.

Check your geological interpretation

With GeoViz Explore you can visualize your cross sections from GeoFrame 4 Geology Office in time or depth to validate interwell interpretation. In this example, faults and seismic data are displayed to enhance your understanding.

Check your depth conversions

You can use several GeoViz Explore windows simultaneously to check time versus depth interpretation. You also can use a combination of GeoViz and GeoViz Explore windows. Here you see the same scene in both domains for validation.

Check your geological zonation schemes

Zones created in WellPix curve correlation and marking picking software are immediately visible in GeoViz Explore for validation. In this example two reservoir zones are seen as cylinders around the wellbore and are differentiated by color. Additionally, log and top data can be displayed in the three-dimensional canvas.

Check geological and geophysical interpretations against each other

You can cross check your geological and geophysical interpretations to determine inter-relationships. In this example a gross thickness map is overlain on a top structure surface. Colors show the thickness of the reservoir. The reservoir is generally thinning downdip with some local thickening on the downthrown sides of the major faults.

Check fault and structural frameworks

To ensure consistency of your interpretation, you can validate your structural and fault frameworks against geological marker and geophysical seismic data. You also can gain confidence in frameworks prior to full model construction in either the time or depth domain. Here both frameworks are displayed with seismic and well data.
