Organophilic clay viscosifier, gelling agent
VG-69 is organophilic clay used as a viscosifier and gelling agent in the VERSA oil-base and NOVA synthetic-base drilling fluid systems. This amine-treated bentonite is used to increase carrying capacity and suspension properties, providing support for weight materials and improved cuttings removal. VG-69 clay also aids in filtercake formation and filtration control.
