SAFE-VIS E

Overview Library

HEC polymer viscosifier

SAFE-VIS E liquid viscosifier is a suspension of a high-quality hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) polymer in a synthetic carrier. The HEC is a modified high-molecular-weight, nonionic natural polymer, specially engineered for increasing the viscosity of brines. This easily breakable and nonfermenting polymer increases the viscosity and carrying capacity of workover and completion fluids and heavy brines.

SAFE-VIS E viscosifier is designed to viscosify single-salt CaCl2 brines and all monovalent-salt brines, including NaCl, NaBr, KCl, KBr, and NH4Cl. It also can be used to provide viscosity for pills or spacers, fluid loss control, hole cleaning while washing, milling, or reaming, gravel-pack fluids, and nondamaging reservoir drill-in fluids.

SAFE-VIS E viscosifier is not affected adversely by polar compounds or divalent cations such as calcium and magnesium or cement. The low-toxicity synthetic carrier assists in dispersion and helps prevent lumps or “fish eyes” so that the polymer can viscosify rapidly and smoothly without the need for high shear.
