Lignosulfonate deflocculant for all water-based muds
SPERSENE CFI deflocculant is an iron lignosulfonate specially formulated to act as a deflocculant in all water‐base mud systems. It reduces and stabilizes viscosity and gel strengths which assist in reducing fluid loss. SPERSENE CFI deflocculant is the result of significant developments in lignin chemistry that have led to a “chrome‐free” product that displays superlative performance. The product can contain trace amounts of naturally occurring elements, such as aluminum, magnesium, vanadium and chromium.
SPERSENE CFI deflocculant may be used as a deflocculant and fluid‐loss additive in all water‐base systems. It has proven to be effective in various systems, including‐ freshwater, seawater, saturated salt water, potassium, lime, and gyp and in high‐temperature, low‐colloid systems.
Laboratory tests and field usage have demonstrated the superior deflocculating ability of SPERSENE CFI deflocculant, even in the presence of contaminants and increased temperature. SPERSENE CFI deflocculant is highly soluble and will easily disperse in all types of water.
Advantages
- Compatible with all water‐base fluids
- Excellent deflocculant
- Temperature stable to 325°F (163°C)
- Shows superlative performance in the presence of contaminants
- Assists in reducing fluid loss
- Effectively inhibits bentonite and/or shale hydration when used in sufficient concentrations
- Formulated without chrome, and environmentally acceptable for most areas which restrict the use of chrome
