M‐I PAC SUL
Filtration control additive generating minimal rheology increases
M‐I PAC SUL polyanionic cellulose is a low viscosity, semi‐pure grade fluid‐loss control polymer. It is designed for situations where filtration control is needed with only minimal increases in rheology. M‐I PAC SUL polymer will perform well in all brine applications, especially saltwater‐base fluids. M‐I PAC SUL additive may be used at all densities in either dispersed or non‐dispersed systems. M‐I PAC SUL additive will encapsulate solids to control dispersion of active shale.
M‐I PAC SUL additive controls fluid loss in freshwater, seawater, KCl, and saltwater drilling fluid systems. M‐I PAC SUL additive aids in the formation of a tough, thin filtercake to minimize the potential for differential sticking. M‐I PAC SUL additive is effective in areas where the generation of viscosity buildup should be avoided, but filtration control is required.
M‐I PAC SUL additive will create an envelope around exposed shales and cuttings for encapsulation reducing dispersion and permitting improvement of wellbore integrity.
The encapsulation protects the shale from exposure to water which tends to destabilize the shale.
