Organic shale stabilizer
KLA‐GARD B is a chloride‐free, organic shale stabilizer that reduces the swelling of sensitive shales and drill cuttings exposed to water‐base drilling fluids. KLA‐GARD B inhibits shale hydration, which reduces the effect of drill solids on viscosity and helps minimize excessive dilution rates, torque and drag, surge and swab pressures, BHA balling and other problems. KLA-GARD B has extremely low toxicity, making it acceptable for offshore or any areas where environmental concerns prevent salt discharges.
