High-temperature deflocculant for water-based muds
IDSPERSE XT high temperature deflocculant is a liquid anionic polymer dispersant and filtration control agent for saline water‐base muds. It is particularly effective at preventing gelation in high‐temperature systems. It is stable to temperatures in excess of 400°F (204°C) and is not affected by calcium contamination and high salt levels.
IDSPERSE XT dispersant contains no toxic heavy metals such as chromium. It is a cost‐effective replacement for chrome‐containing dispersants in environmentally sensitive areas.
Applications
IDSPERSE XT dispersant may be used in all water‐base fluids, but is designed primarily for use in saline fluids where the chloride content exceeds 20,000 mg/L. Addition of the product will reduce yield point values, gel strengths, and fluid loss. It has particular application in high‐temperature fluids. IDSPERSE XT dispersant can also be used as a non‐toxic replacement for lignosulfonate.
Advantages
- Controls rheology and fluid loss at elevated temperatures
- Excellent substitute for chrome lignosulfonate and chrome lignite
- Excellent for spotting in the hole during trips to prevent temperature gelation
- May be used in all water‐base systems
