Powerful supplemental emulsifier

M‐I 157 emulsifier is a supplemental additive used to improve filtration control and increase emulsion stability. It has application in all NOVA synthetic and VERSA oil systems. M‐I 157 additive should only be used in severe situations where thermal stability, emulsion stability or wettability problems have been encountered. It should always be used in conjunction with treatments of the primary emulsifier and wetting agent.

Applications

M‐I 157 product is a powerful emulsifier that should be used sparingly and not used on a regular basis. It should only be used to treat special problems or situations associated with thermal instability, diminished filtration control, emulsion instability or to correct wettability. These usually are indicated by increased fluid loss, water in the filtrate, water‐wet solids, and low electrical stability.
