LITHIUM HYPOCHLORITE is a strong oxidizer used primarily in water-based reservoir drill-in fluids as a breaker for various polymers. It is a blended product referred to as lithium chlorine bleach. Hypochlorites often are used to help “break” the viscosity of natural-polymer-base fluids. This capacity loosens up the filter cakes of drill-in fluids, so bridging particles can be produced back through sand control liners or  more effectively acidized.
