Fluid Characterization

Overview Library

One of the biggest challenges in heavy oil fluid characterization is to acquire representative samples of viscous fluids downhole.

Viscosity, Composition

  • Quicksilver Probe Focused Extraction of Pure Reservoir Fluid
Part of the Schlumberger InSitu Fluid Sampling and Extraction range of services, the Quicksilver Probe tool collects representative samples to give you a better understanding of hydrocarbon properties at reservoir conditions.
  • StethoScope
Formation pressure while drilling measurements pressure profiles can be combined with other LWD logs to develop a static reservoir model. The information also optimizes fluid typing.
  • Heavy Oil Studies
Determine optimal extraction, production, and processing methods by analyzing the thermodynamic and physical properties of live and stock-tank heavy oils.

Combined Measurements to Improve Recovery

Schlumberger is unique in combining nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on saturation and viscosity with relative permeability information from the Dielectric Scanner service. The combined measurements facilitate optimal production by delivering accurate perforation positions to avoid water zones, and to produce oil.
