Reservoir Seismic Services 

Working with WesternGeco data processing groups, Reservoir Seismic Services fully integrates seismic data with borehole data and processes the combined data for inversion. The generic four-stage workflow involves wavelet extraction, static or dynamic inversion, rock physics, and reservoir modeling using ISIS simultaneous inversion software. The result is greater accuracy in reservoir characterization.

PetroMod Petroleum Systems Modeling

Successful E&P in complex geologies and environments requires integration of seismic, electromagnetics, and magnetotellurics data, calibrated with well data. The Integrated Services for Exploration group, spanning Oilfield Services and WesternGeco, provides the expertise needed for both integration and interpretation. Two issues are key in exploration: an evaluation of charge risk and the relative timing of trap formation and hydrocarbon migration. PetroMod petroleum systems modeling software produces a model of basin evolution through geologic time using seismic information, well data, and geologic knowledge. The prediction of hydrocarbon generation, migration, and entrapment reduces the exploration uncertainties.

Petrel Seismic-to-Simulation Software

During the exploration phase, Petrel software improves asset team efficiency by unifying operations and processes, testing multiple scenarios to analyze potential success, and capturing best practices.

  • Velocity Model Building

    A module to the Petrel package, i2i interactive software applications enable the construction of velocity models and execution of depth-imaging workflows in a 3D visualization environment. Typical workflows include isotropic and anisotropic depth imaging, migration velocity model building and updates, 4D imaging and anisotropic illumination studies, and calibration of borehole to surface seismic data.
