Rigless Decommissioning
The rigless well abandonment package includes a specially designed hydraulic power swivel stand capable of 100,000 lbm of pulling capacity and 72 in of stroke. The package features a keyway for an API false rotary and tong crane that hydraulically strokes and rotates away, clearing the keyway. This operation is controlled from one panel, a remote setup that allows a more compact, simpler, and safer job.
Clincher ultrahigh-torque power tongs
For the rigless decommissioning package, Clincher power tongs are used with wraparound jaws and dies, along with low-friction jaw technology, a constant radial load cam system, and a compensating jaw design. The tongs provide exception gripping capabilities with reduced pipe deformation, stress, and marking.
Venturetech XK power swivel
Designed for long life and easy service, the Venturetech XK power swivel is used for the rigless package with one high-torque, hollow-shaft hydraulic motor. The motor drives the swivel stem directly through a massive, lubricated spline. The only moving parts are the motor, stem, bearings, and packing cartridge, and no gears are used, making the hydraulic motor speed the same as the swivel speed.
Because the entire hydraulic motor is removed, service is made simpler. Unique lubrication and sealing components include
- pressure-lubricated lower-stem bearings
- pressure-greased dual upper-stem seals
- dual upper- and lower-motor seals.
All seals run on replaceable wear rings to prevent stem wear and corrosion, and a special valve prevents downtime from blown shaft seals resulting from blocking or disconnecting the drain hose.
