SlimAccess Wireline Logging Tool for Slim, Complex-Geometry Boreholes

Overview Library

Access medium- and high-dogleg severity wellbores

The 2 1/2-in-diameter SlimAccess wireline logging tool for slim and complex geometry boreholes can access hole sizes as small as 3 1/2 in. Its flexibility also ensures logging performances in wells with medium to high dogleg severity, delivering the same accurate, reliable data you expect from standard tools.

The SlimAccess toolstring integrates

  • array induction resistivity
  • array sonic, array density
  • compensated neutron
  • gamma ray.

Slimholes and deviation are not obstacles. The SlimAccess quad-combo successfully logged a 3 3/4-in second sidetrack hole with a dogleg severity of 40°/100 ft and a maximum hole deviation of 75°, and using the TLC drillpipe-conveyance system, the SlimAccess triple-combo was successfully deployed through a dogleg severity of 73°/100 ft in a 6-in hole.

In a Canadian well, the 7 7/8-in borehole collapsed, preventing standard logging tools from reaching total depth. To complete the logging job, 4 1/2-in drillpipe was run in the well past the point of collapse. The SlimAccess string was conveyed through the drillpipe (3 1/4-in-drift ID) and logged over the openhole section.
