Identify Productive Zones
PS Platform service was run in a well with 5-in casing, 31° deviation, and unwanted water and gas production. The objective was to obtain a flow profile and determine water and gas entry points. Total operating time was 3 hours.
On the basis of the data and interpretation, other wells in the area were reevaluated to determine if a lower interval was present and could be added to production. Fill was removed from one of the wells, and the lower interval was perforated, increasing initial production by 500 bbl of oil per day. Three additional wells in this field are being prepared for completion in this interval.
Without the PS Platform data, the lower interval would not have been tested and would have been written off as a nonproductive zone.
