Gas Sample Bottles

The Oilphase-DBR gas sample bottles are sample cylinders for separator and processline sample transportation and storage. They are used primarily for well test separator sampling during production testing. As part of oil, gas condensate, and wet-gas testing, separator gas samples are matched with an oil or condensate sample collected under identical separator conditions, for physical recombination at the pressure-volumetemperature (PVT) laboratory.

The large volume ensures sufficient gas from a single sample for a complete PVT recombination study under most separator conditions. The vacuum-filled bottle is fully evacuated before transporting to the sampling site. The fully evacuated bottle is purged, and samples are allowed to fill to line or separator pressure.

The 1- and 2.5-gal [3.785- and 9.464-L] bottles are certified for safe and legal transportation of hydrocarbon gas by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), and the weldless design allows for easy inspection and simple maintenance.

The 5.283-gal [20-L] gas sample bottle is made from aluminum for strength, corrosion resistance, and metal fatigue resistance. It is also 40% lighter than comparable steel cylinders making it easy to handle and less costly to transport.
