System Requirements

Minimum hardware requirements

  • 500-MHz Intel Pentium or equivalent processor
  • 128-M RAM
  • 1-G hard disk
  • 1024 × 768 graphics card

Operating system requirements

  • Windows Vista
  • Windows XP
  • Windows 7

Installing ToolPlanner

Note for users: Like other software programs, the ToolPlanner application may need to update files in the system directory or registry on the user’s computer. As such, installation will fail if the user does not have permission to update files in the system directory or registry. A quick fix is to run the ToolPlanner installation kit from an Administrator account.

To install ToolPlanner, follow these simple steps:

  • Download ToolPlanner install kit.
  • Uninstall all previous versions of ToolPlanner.
  • Run the installation kit.
  • Follow the installation instruction program to install the software.

Getting started

Before running the software, please read Getting Started.htm in the help folder for the installation path.

Known issues

When the software is installed by double clicking the install kit, the software will first display a progress dialog called “InstallAnywhere” before the main installation window. Depending on the computer system, it may take from a few seconds to one minute for the ToolPlanner installation dialog appear.

To report a problem, include the following information in your e-mail message:

  • version of the product you use
  • type of hardware you use, including network hardware, if applicable
  • operating system you use
  • exact wording of any messages that were displayed on your screen
  • description of what happened and what you were doing when the problem occurred
  • description of how you tried to solve the problem.

Also, attach any related data or graphics files to the e-mail message reporting the problem. Schlumberger treats client data with full confidentiality and will destroy the data after the issue has been resolved.
